Dora Haque, a recent graduate from the University of Miami School of Law, joined the Arias and Pereira team in September 2023 as the firm’s Law Clerk. Dora is a second-generation Bangladeshi American with a passion to pursue a legal career in which she can benefit the community in which she lives. Growing up in an immigrant household, Dora understands first-hand the many struggles faced by immigrants in the U.S., as well as the aspiration of all immigrants to obtain a higher standard of life for themselves and their families than they could have in their native countries.
During her time in law school, Dora has held multiple legal internships and externships and gained experience in a wide variety of law practices, including immigration law, real estate law, corporate law, and human rights law. As a Legal Intern at the University of Miami Immigration Clinic, Dora gained invaluable experience tirelessly advocating for the improvement of clients’ immigration status. She was also given the opportunity to assist in an amicus brief sent by the clinic to the Supreme Court regarding the controversial interpretation of a federal statute in case law. Furthermore, Dora actively participated in many campus organizations, most notably the Race and Social Justice Law Review, where she held an executive board position as the Chief Notes and Comments Editor.
Dora’s experiences have strengthened her resolve to use her law degree to advocate for the betterment of others. As a Law Clerk for Arias and Pereira, Dora feels she has been given the opportunity to fulfill this ambition. She works on various immigration and criminal defense matters for the firm, with a view toward zealous advocacy and life changing results.
